The people invariably shared a thunderstruck look at what had befallen their leader. Khoda Rhone, their genius, their benefactor... and yes their savior had been unmasked as an alien and double dealer. The whole of the life he had built here on Irlixia had been shattered, trampled beneath the stampeding hooves of unvarnished truth and the house of lies he had erected had come crashing to the ground thanks to Salid's daring maneuver. He returned his attention to Nakamura as he reset the charge of his phaser to heavy stun ... just in case it should be needed. Nakamura was however still far gone from the effects of the stun he had hit him with though it wouldn't last more than another few minutes. It appeared the Irlixian official didn't find Captain Salid's proposal to be quite to his liking but he had little choice, not if he wanted to maintain his current society and have a chance of future integration into the interstellar community under the guidance of the Federation. The possibility of concessions however piqued his interest and he finally nodded. "I will accept your terms but I can not order the release of your people or ships. The facilities where they are held and the fleet are both commanded by loyalists who obey every whim of Khoda Rhone's mind." Louis had expected the outcome, whether under Nakamura's direct control or not the military establishment in a totalitarian state would have a mind of its own and not liable to a civilian government not forcibly controlled by a heavy hand. Meaning of course that one like Khoda Rhone himself was part of and the ruling head of the military and any civilian officials not empowered directly by him would be powerless to dictate policy over them. Add to that the fact that without Nakamura's guidance the military leaders themselves became the most powerful force over the Rhone Union and you added to the equation the lust for power present in any government but given much freer and more brutal rein in such circumstances. Meaning they had the military might and technology ... and would have to be forced to give it ... and the federation officers up. ~At least he he has vowed that he won't attempt to interfere with us.~ "Then show me you are trustworthy and secure Khoda Rhone and see to it he remains unharmed. We will take him back with us to the ship. For the moment we must discuss things, and that will require us contacting the other leaders of this world." Ahmed pushed. "I understand. We can retire to the Government buildings." The Irlixian agreed. "Very well, " The captain said then turned to look at Louis. "Mister Remey will be accompanying Khoda Rhone until such time as we return to our ship." He nodded. "Yes sir, I won't let him out of my sight for a second." Louis gave the man a piercing look. "I am going to need someplace secure to hold this man where I can watch him and I don't want anyone to have access to it. If any of your people penetrate it I will have to assume that they are trying to facilitate his escape." "There is a suite of offices in that building." The Irlixian pointed to his left. I will post a detail outside the building with orders that no one is to enter it and no one is to be allowed in. Will that be satisfactory?" "Yes." Louis nodded. "I need one to give me a hand getting him there, after that he clears out." "Very well. Sanus." The Irlixian who had pulled his weapon on Louis looked back at the official. "Help him then I am placing you in charge of a twelve man over watch team. Let no one in or out." "Yes sir." Sanus reached down and grabbed one arm while Louis took the other. Together the two men and a security detail began 'escorting' Nakamura away. (Reply: Salid) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, ATAC/SEC Ensign Marta Nunez- Day 8, 2003) She had just returned from securing the second adjacent room off the Office, designated Office A, when her commbadge chirped with a surprising amount of noise. =^=Matrix to Nunez...any luck on finding information on the hostages?=^= "Not yet Lieutenant, Smith is still working on the computer here. It seems it is a bit more difficult than anticipated. I neutralized a clerk here, but so far we've had no other contact with the natives." She replied as she gave Smith a look. =^= We've managed to incapacitate three Irlixian officers, but we've found nothing of value here. =^= Matrix replied. "Understood." =^= We'll proceed to office C immediately. Matrix out. =^= "Roger that. I'll let you know if we find anything at all. Otherwise if we come up empty handed we'll meet with you at location Charlie. Nunez out." Marta walked over to where Smith was standing and circled around behind the operations officer as he worked on gaining access to the Irlixian computer. It seemed that the password was being stubborn. Marta watched for a few moments and then smiled. "I wonder if the old saying about passwords hold true across species lines?" she inquired. (reply smith) "the old axiom about the most commonly used passwords." (reply smith) "Let's do a quickly little experiment shall we?" she asked him then and pulled out her PADD. She typed in a word in standard and had it translated into the native Irlixian. Once the translation came back she displayed the result to Smith. "Type this in." she suggested. She watched as he complied although it seemed that he thought her approach was less than scientific. But she smiled when the next screen resulted in complete access to the computer and it's associated files. "Ha I knew it!" she responded with a smile on her lips. (reply Smith) "What you just entered into the system was the Irlixian words for I am God." (reply Smith) "Seems that the old axiom DOES apply after all." (reply Smith) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8, 2004) "Are you okay?" asked Matrix as he looked at the three Irlixians lying unconscious on the floor. "I believe my wrist is sprained, but I am well otherwise," said Sanok. "I don't see anything of value here, and we're not going to get anything out of these three," said Matrix. "I hope team two has discovered where our hostages are." Matrix contacted Nunez and asked for a status report. While they were talking, Sanok moved back to the door that led into the office and checked the hallway. A quick scan with his tricorder revealed that there were no other Irlixians nearby. He went back to where Matrix was. "Okay, Sanok, let's do a though all scan of this area and head to office C." "I scanned the direction from which he came, as well as checked the hallway," said Sanok. "There are no Irlixians present, and that area is secure." (reply Matrix) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Lt. Steven Matrix, Day 8, 2006) Sanok managed to incapacitate the remaining Irlixian and stepped into the hallway toward their last destination. "I scanned the direction from which he came, as well as checked the hallway. There are no Irlixians present, and that area is secure." "Excellent, lets get to office C. You lead the way." replied Matrix. (Reply Sanok) =^= Matrix to Nunez, heading to office C. Lets get in and out as quickly as possible. Let me know as soon as possible if you find where our hostages are!" =^= (Reply Nunez) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, ATAC/SEC Ensign Marta Nunez- Day 8, 2008) =^= Matrix to Nunez, heading to office C. Lets get in and out as quickly as possible. Let me know as soon as possible if you find where our hostages are!" =^= Her commbadge chirped. Marta reached up and tapped the badge and then replied, "Understood sir. We've just gained access to the computer and, we're search their files now. As soon as we have the answer I'll..." She paused for a moment as Smith excitedly pointed at the display. "We've found the data for the shields at the facility, so that's out of the way. We'll shut them down in anticipation of the last stage of the mission. Once we have data on the Prisoners, I'll advise you right away. Nunez out." Marta stood back and watched as Smith navigated his way through the very alien computer system, using his tricorder from time to time to map out a series of data links or to translate a prompt that might be displayed. It was an incredibly difficult process and because of the language barrier very slow going. --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ - Office C, Lt. Steven Matrix, Day 8, 2009) Matrix and Sanok arrived at their last destination. The office dimly lit. "Anything on your scanner? Any Irlixians?" whispered Matrix. (Reply Sanok) "Okay, concentrate on the computer console at the main table. See if you can access their files and I'll scan the room for other information. Report anything you find. I hope Nunez and Smith found something. The longer we stay here the more risk of being discovered." said Matrix. While Sanok investigated the computer console, Matrix circled the room concentrating on the most obvious documents that appeared to be moved or out of place. This office was similar to the other in that it was clearly an archive repository. The contrast between books and chronicles with advanced computer consoles was perplexing. Surely anything the away team would be searching for would be found in the computer. Matrix had established a link between his tricorder and the Rosenante's computer core. The uplink could easily keep up with the flow of information and imagery being transmitted. "Have you found anything yet Sanok?" asked Matrix. (Reply Sanok) "Report anything of interest back to the Rosenante and document it with your tricorder. Perhaps some of this information we'll find useful in the future?" asked Matrix. (Reply Sanok) =^= Matrix to Nunez...report please. Have you found anything? =^= (Reply Nunez) (Reply Sanok, Nunez, Smith) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, Office C, Ensign sg Sanok, Day 8, 2010) "Anything on your scanner? Any Irlixians?" whispered Matrix. "None," said Sanok, whispering back. Matrix sent Sanok to investigate the computer at the main table. Moving there, he stood, silently looking at it. It was the same situation as the previous room. Sanok wasn't a computer hacker, so other than trying random passwords, there wasn't really anything he could do. Sanok decided to open desk drawers and look through the papers, scanning them with his tricorder set to universal translator mode. After a few minutes, there wasn't anything of use he could find. Matrix had completed his rounds in the office and joined Sanok at the computer. "Have you found anything yet, Sanok?" asked Matrix. "No," said Sanok in typical Vulcan brevity. "Report anything of interest back to the Rosenante and document it with your tricorder," said Matrix. "Perhaps some of this information we'll find useful in the future?" "Perhaps," said Sanok, though feeling it wouldn't be. If the captain's plan worked, there would be massive changes coming on Irlix. While Sanok resumed his scanning, Matrix called Nunez. Someone would need to find something soon. (reply any) (posted by Bob) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix, Khoda City, Government HQ, ATAC/SEC Ensign Marta Nunez- Day 8, 2012) =^= Matrix to Nunez...report please. Have you found anything? =^= Marta's commbadge sounded again a few minutes later. "Not yet sir. We're still looking." she replied and then Smith declared, "Found it!" and gave her a toothy grin. "Correction lieutenant, we have the location of the Prisoners. They are in the Seliya facility as we'd thought and the coordinates for the Bohrs are here as well. And surprisingly enough, it looks like there is a personal transporter in the Supreme Commander's Office, just 380 yards from your location. We could use it to get to the Bohrs." (reply Matrix) "Understood. I'm forwarding the data to the Rosenante now and sending you the coordinates for both the Bohrs and the Transporter console we found data for. We're leaving here to link up with you now." (reply Matrix) "Aye sir. Nunez out." She tapped the badge to close the line and then gave Smith a big smile. "Good work Robert, now let's get out of here before something bad happens." (reply Smith) Marta and Robert immediately closed up shop, quickly tidying up any signs that they had been here and then left the office to link up with the rest of the infiltration team. They'd found what was needed and now they were going to make certain that Rosenbauer and his team had all the help that they needed to escape with the prisoners. I don't want to stick around any longer." ordered Matrix. "Aye sir. Nunez out." Matrix turned to Sanok, "Nunez and Smith found that the hostages are located in the Seliya facility." said Matrix. Matrix glanced at his tricorder as it downloaded the information from Nunez's scan results. (Reply Sanok) =^= Matrix to the Rosenante, Ensigns Smith and Nunez found the location of the hostages. They are in the Seliya facility. I've included that information in my data link back to the main computer under Matrix-Omega-One-One. You should see that momentarily. (Reply Nunez, Smith, Sanok) (Posted by Steve) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Seliya Facility Corridor -aCMO, Ens Kimiko Ichijo, Day 8 – 2018.5) Kimiko watched and the guard fired at the position that she was at and was promptly dropped by Rosenbauer. Digging her phaser out from under the unconscious (hopefully) bodies, the doctor heard the concern in the voice of the ensign, as he reported that reinforcements were on the way. Kimiko rose to her feet and straightened her uniform, a nervous habit that she picked in medical school. ~better then gibbering in stark terror, I suppose~ Kimiko mused ~Hello miko….firefight~ She watched Mike fire into the room and then motioned to Sam to follow him to the intersection. The doctor moved over the Ensign working on the door. Kimiko glanced around first at the charge of her phaser ~gee, full charge… oh, I haven’t shot anyone. ~ Then to the two men at the intersection. ~Forget the marines, just send the Lopez….hum~ Kimiko looked back at the door as it hissed open. "I've got it, Sir!" Eian shouted The heavy door slid slowly open, Kimiko brought her phaser up and glanced back down to corridor to see if the other two members of the group heard Eian. She turned back at the cry of “contact” and saw the second of two Irlixian fall. The doctor scuttled though the doorway and heard the door slam shut. Kimiko glanced back to see Mike behind her. The doctor pulled out a fresh charge for a phaser and offered it to Mike. (Reply Rosenbauer) As the ensign was getting is bearings, the doctor looked around ~corridor after unrelieved corridor~ Kimiko thought ~How does one live here without going utterly insane~ "We've got four more approximately a hundred meters ahead, Sir!" The ensign stated. "We have to keep moving. Hug the walls of the corridor and stay low!" Mike ordered. The doctor complied and was getting a little annoyed. ~I thought that he had an advanced team to soak up these guards. Medical relief parties are NOT suppose to be going head to head with soldiers, period~ The doctor followed the group up the corridor towards the waiting group ~I’m a doctor, not a bloody assassin. If I wanted to shoot people, I would have joined the blasted marines.~ (Reply Rosenbauer, any) (Posted by Jack) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante - Bridge - CONN - Lt Dralar - Day 8- 2021) "Mister Dralar, Warp 2." Sullivan ordered. "Aye Captain warp two." The Skorr helmsman replied and then tapped out the commands into his console. "Captain, our friends are coming on - they are increasing their speed" Jackson shouted. "Warp 4, Mister Dralar." Sullivan responded. "Aye captain warp four." Again he tapped out the commands that would increase the speed of the Rosenante and cause the Irlixians to respond by accelerating as well. "They have increased speed and are once again gaining on us captain." Dralar reported. "Lets see how fast they can go, warp 6." Sullivan countered. "Aye captain increasing to warp six." Once again the Irlixians began to match speed and then slowly began to over take them. It seemed that they were close to their limit. "They are gaining but at a very slow rate captain." Dralar reported as he watched is displays closely. Something dawned on the Commander at a fundamental level. She quickly outlined an old tactic that may just work against the Irlixians because of their lack of experience in ship to ship combat. "...Dralar prepare for sudden deceleration. Jackson, I'm going to need a full spread of aft torpedoes. Then a sudden barrage of very precise weapons fire right after we go to impulse, knock down their shields" Dralar's hands tapped out the ready commands that would bring the Rosenante out of warp in a matter of moments and reduce their speed to a point that the ship would be standing relatively still in comparison. It would be risky, especially if the Irlixian commanders tried to swerve and slammed into the Rosenante by mistake. "Ready Captain." Dralar reported; his taloned finger hovered over the engage button. When both Jackson and Dralar had signaled that they were prepared, Sullivan resumed, "On my mark..." A moment passed and then, "mark." Dralar's finger dropped down and the Rosenante responded with all the skill and agility of a well maintained and finely honed ship of the line. She dropped out of warp speed, decelerating so rapidly that the ship almost came to a standstill as the Irlixians continued their approach at breakneck speeds. Jackson's skills were right on the money and the stream of torpedoes and phaser fire, ripped through the Irlixians shields as they panicked and tried to stop as well. The ships broke their tight formation and swarmed around the Rosenante as she laid a blistering cavalcade of phased energy blasts into her assailants. In a matter of moments, the lead ship was left drifting as it dropped out of warp and the other two were careening off in opposite directions, limping badly from the flogging that the Rosenante had just handed out. "Good shooting Mr. Jackson. Scan them ensure they are immobile." All ship's but one had been effectively immobilized and the lead vessel was not in danger of a warp collapse as a result of a shot that had stuck their warp core as a result of their wild reactive maneuvering. "How many are on the affected vessel?" Sullivan inquired "It appears about 50 personnel Commander" Came the reply. Sullivan looked at her command display before ordering Jackson to hail the other vessel. "Irlixian vessel this is the USS Rosenante" Jackson sent and they all waited for the Irlixian commander to respond. (reply none necessary) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (RUS Starfall, Bridge, CO Fleet Commander Frazil, Day 8-2024) Frazil was tasting victory one moment as his small fleet was still gaining on the alien ship and then suddenly his entire world shifted. "They're stopping!" his helmsman cried in alarm and Frazil looked up to see a suddenly immobile ship dead ahead of them. He jabbed a single finger into the console and opened the channel with his other ships. "Collision alert, break formation and regroup!" he ordered and then added to his helmsman, "Take us over their back!" The helms man replied as suddenly a series of high yield energy explosion rocked the Starfall, sending the Commander out of his seat and into the floor in a most undignified manner. The ship then rocked roughly, like a bucking Bozka having a bad hair day as the alien ship opened up on the Irlixian flagship with more firepower than Frazil had ever seen. The commander had simply assumed that since the ship had chosen to retreat that he had out gunned him, but now, feeling the wicked bucking motions of the deck beneath him, he understood that this entire maneuver had been a terrible trap and that he had led his entire fleet directly into it, sealing their fate. Surprisingly enough, however, the ship didn't exist and the commander didn't meet his end days at that moment. Instead the lights flickered and the ship settled. Frazil pulled his self from the deck and wedged himself back into his seat. He wasn't injured physically but his pride had taken a near fatal broadside. "Status report!" he bellowed, very much still in command. "All our vessels have lost drive except the Gorand. That vessel reports steerage control and speed control failure." The commander looked up at the alien ship which was sitting behind them now watching as his ship and crew drifted helplessly in space. "Damage report?" he called next, " We're experiencing problems with the warp core chambers. The engineer believes we have breached the antimatter chamber and that we are going to start leaking antimatter soon." That was most assuredly not good news. "Transfer command of the fleet to Captain Zolig of the Gorand with orders to withdraw when able to base. He is then to recover any survivors once the alien vessel has left the system." "Yes sir!" the communications officer replied and then sent the message. Only a few moment passed when that very same officer turned back towards the command chair and said simply, "They are hailing us." "Probably wishing to gloat over their victory." his first officer replied. "Wouldn't we?" Frazil asked rhetorically before adding, put them on the screen. =^=Irlixian vessel, this is Commander T'Larah Sullivan of the USS Rosenante, we regret to inform you that our phaser fire has unintentionally destabilized your antimatter containment.....=^= The alien on the screen was a female and had a slight green tint to her skin and had slightly pointed ears. Frazil searched his memory and settled on Romulan as her species. "Yes, we are aware of that. I am told that a breach is imminent." he replied evenly. He was not about to show fear to an alien who had just bested him in battle, especially if he was afraid. =^=I realize that. Which is why we are offering our assistance.=^= the Romulan explained. "Assistance?" Frazil replied, "We've been bested in battle. You've defeated us, why would you aid us?" His voice held genuine confusion at the offer. He had long been a man of war and had never seen mercy given nor requested in his service. He himself never asked for quarter nor did he offer it to his enemies. Why an alien race who was superior in technology and skill would do so to a defeated foe was unfathomable to him. "They wish to make us slaves." one of the bridge officers said aloud. "We will not be your slaves," He then said louder. "We will all die first. We will not allow you to humiliate us by capturing us." (reply Sullivan) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility, Holding Block, Guard, Lieutenant Fornix, Day 8-2025.5) "You've just taken the first step towards peace between your people and mine Fornix." Ben said. Fornix just nodded. "I could use your help releasing the other prisoners Fornix." Ben said. "Come with me." "I think it might be best for my family if I remained behind, here in the cell. You can activate and deactivate it using my access key. "If that's what you want." Ben replied Fornix nodded and handed the key over to Soma. "What I want is not always best. What I must do is stay here." he replied. (reply none) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Rosenante Bridge Lt Tom Jackson COPS 2025.7*) Lt Dralar deftly got the Rose moving away from the Irilixan vessels. Lt Cmdr Sullivan had them jump to warp spped. This limited Tom's ability to respond to the attacks to torpedoes only. "Captain, our friends are coming on - they are increasing their speed" Jackson shouted. (reply: Dralar, Sullivan, Bridge crew) T'Larah increased the Rosé's speed to warp 4. The rate the Irilixans were gaining was barely increasing but they were still gaining. Tom itched to fire again - they had hurt his pal Chance and he wanted to lash out at the enemy. Cmdr Sullivan upped the ante even more with the order to go to warp 5. Dralar complied. Jackson was worried as they were going farther and farther away from the planet's surface - leaving the AWAY team in the balance. The Co went on to explain that the Irilixans had not been in space very long and some old Federation tricks might work. "I hope you are correct Commander" Jackson replied worried about the proposed maneuver. She replied shortly. "You are right except we are going to perform a Cochrane Deceleration just before the explosion. Dralar prepare for sudden deceleration. Mr. Jackson, I'm going to need a full spread of aft torpedoes. Then a sudden barrage of very precise weapons fire right after we go to impulse, knock down their shields" she explained. "Understood Captain" Tom replied after he had set up the spread of torpedoes and readied the phasers to drop their shields once the rosenante was at impulse power. Tom's guts were knotted tighter than he ever remembered them being. He trusted T'Larah but could not help worrying. On the CO's signal, Tom fired the torpedoes. The Irilxians panicked slammed to a complete halt- unsure what to do. All vessels save one are immobile - Damn~ Jackson swore. T'Lariah asked what had happened. Tom explained that at the instant they fired the phasers, a minor course correction by the Irilixan vessel had hit their anti-matter containment system. The ship is danger of exploding. T'Larah asked "How many are on the affected vessel". Jackson consulted his readouts - "It appears about 50 personnel Commander" Tom replied. She checked the vessel's containment status and ordered Tom to "hail them". "Irilixan vessel this is the USS Rosenante" Tom sent and waited for the reply. The four life signs were getting closer, and Eian gave the hand sign that they were about to round the corner. He dove to the ground and slid on his stomach to get a good angle at just the right moment. The first of the four rounded the corner and Eian dropped him with a phaser burst to his ankles. Quickly jumping to a squatting position against the wall, Eian shot another as other members of the team dropped the other two guards. He looked at his PADD. "We're clear from here to the holding cell, Sir, but I'm not reading prisoner life signs. It's possible the holding cell fields could be blocking their signatures." (reply Rosenbauer, any) They continued on their way and reached the holding cells. They were empty. Eian looked at his PADD again. "Sir, four life signs around that corner. It could be the prisoners, they may have escaped." (reply Rosenbauer, any) Eian nodded and approached the wall, clinging to it just before the corner. Others moved into position, and then on a countdown of 3...2...1...they rounded it. There they were met with two guards who were also information, ready to pounce on the away team. But before Eian could even get a shot off, the Irlixians were blasted from behind and two Starfleet officers emerged from behind containers in the hall. Eian processed the information quickly and said, "We're from the Rosenante, we're here to get you out of here. Where are the others?" (reply any) (posted by Morgan G) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Irlix- Seliya Facility Corridor -aCMO, Ens Kimiko Ichijo, Day 8 – 2027) The Doctor continued her mental rant after the very brief firefight. Kimiko noticed O’Neil’s hand gesture and checked her tricorder ~Yep, 30 meters out and they are huddled around the corner, just waiting. Is if we are stupid enough to bumble up to the intersection, allowing them to shoot us at their leisure. You strap a helmet on someone, put a gun in their hands and instantly they lose the ability for abstract thought.~ “I don’t think a frontal assault is good at the particular junction” Kimiko cocks her head “Hum… “ She looked back at Mike. “I….” She saw the group charge forth on what must have been a predetermined count “I.. nevermind” the doctor finished ~It always seems that I pull out my phaser more often than my tricorder~ Kimiko thought as she chased after the group. Hearing the low pitched whine of a phase , Kimiko turned the corner to watch the last guard fall. She looked up to see two humans looking the worse for wear. Eian said, "We're from the Rosenante, we're here to get you out of here. Where are the others?" The doctor consulted her tricorder. “Just suffering from cuts and bruising; however it appears that at least their captors provided basic medical care with their beatings” The doctors advised The doctor froze as she heard the whine of a phaser from another corridor. ~The Bohrs group is not here~ Kimiko thought ~oh crap~ Kimiko took off without warning, Kimiko had a feeling that the discharge boded badly for her side, she would not be able to explain it to anyone, but there was a need to be there and stop something. She rounded the corner to see a Vulcan wrestling with an armed Irlixian. There was a prone Starfleet uniform clad body at their feet. A second guard was trying to fire at the Starfleet officer without hitting his friend. The ensign turned and fired on the unengaged Irlixian, the guard dropped like a stone. She was tempted to shoot him again, but declined. The wrestling pair presented the same challenge to Kimiko, until a shot went wild, hit a containment field and exploded into a burst of sparks. “Forget this” Kimiko stated, widened the focus and shot both of the combatants. “Sorry” she stated to the unconscious Vulcan and rushed to the prone figure. Viewing the body, Kimiko could see that there was not use for an attempt of resuscitation She turned and saw the rest of the group had arrived. "When we get out of here remind me to tell you about this place I know on Rigel..." Doug started. "That's a story for another time." Ben said. "We've got a lot of work to do if we plan on helping anyone." "Yeah, the Bohrs isn't going to repair herself now is she?" Doug said taking the offered phaser. He checked the settings and confirmed it was on the second lowest setting. ~Should be heavy stun.~ As the pair walked away Doug hoped to himself that they wouldn't meet as much opposition as he thought they would, and that the EMH was right, the cavalry was on their way. They had work to do so they headed out of the cell. Once they stepped out they saw a team approaching and two guards stepped out in ambush, Ben raised his phaser at the same time as Doug and both fired in perfect sync and dropped the guards to the corridor floor. The team stepped forward and stated they were from the Rosenante, the Doc had been right about the ship. The rescue party was here and now they had more back up. "I'm from the Mithrandir." Ben replied. "Lieutenant Ben Soma. This is Lieutenant Doug Masters of the Bohrs." Ben then relayed the location of the ship. "The Bohrs is three decks above us and to the west, in a hanger. He had robbed power form almost every available non-essential area to re-enforce the shields, life support and inertial fields. Between the ship's manoeuvres and hits from the Irilxans, Phil Sheridan felt bruised and battered. The acting Co had managed to out run the Irilxan attack vessels, with Jackson firing the ordered torpedo spread as they dropped out of warp. Phil was impressed with Commander Sullivan's Cochran Declaration manoeuvre. It caught the enemy flat footed. There was so much to do that Tierce barely had enough time to take it all in and start issuing orders before they had started getting calls from the bridge. "Reroute that power from coupling 16 Alpha through the tertiary line and have Grev shut down the power flow to that portion of the main." He ordered as they were working on just controlling the damage that had built up from the intense bombardment that the Irlixians had been able to dish out. "I'm on it chief," someone replied as Tierce moved to look back at the Master Display console. Half a dozen critical systems on the ship's lateral and dorsal sides were pulsing bright read indicating damage. Among them was the barely surviving Dorsal shield generator. Valen, get a team together and get up to the DSG, I need it stabilized and operational." "Will do chief." Valen replied. =^=Engineering, Bridge - Please submit damage Control reports to us as soon as you can.=^= came Jackson's report. "I can give you a down and dirty report right now Lieutenant." Darby replied as he slapped his commbadge. "We're showing extensive damage to subsystems located along the dorsal perimeter of the ship starting at the aft of deck one and stretching all the way back to the aft of the ship at deck twelve. Among affected systems ate the dorsal phaser arrays, dorsal shield generators and two of the environmental subsystems on those decks. I've also got a problem with power distribution that I'm trying to lock down on decks four and five. Other than that sir, we're doing just peachy." (reply Jackson iyw) Daniel Greene --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Seliya facility -  Hanger- ATAC/SEC Lt. jg Ben Soma - 2040) Ben stepped into the hanger, they had met stiff resistence so far. Fornix had told him they would do everything they could to prevent his escape, so far he hadn't disappointed. Ben could feel the adrinaline flowing through his body, he felt energised, eager to move on. Crouching low he visualy scanned the hanger, the Bohrs was there apprently no worse for the wear. Visualy she looked ready to blaze the stars, they of course had a little work to do to bring her systems back to full power. Of course the greatest challenge right now was gaining access to her so they could begin preping her for flight. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a shuttle, he carefully moved to where he could identify the craft and was surprised to see it was his shuttle. He had assumed it was destroyed after he was abducted, now he was very glad to have been proven wrong. He needed to enter the craft and get an item from the rear compartment, nothing else inside matter. His Fathers katana could not be left behind, it was ll he had left of his family. He noticed there were teams working around the Bohrs trying to figure her out, but the shuttle was not as well guarded. Glancing back at the others behind him he pointed to the shuttle and then at himself. Not knowing if they understood for sure Ben began to move towards the shuttle keeping his back to the wall and staying low to minimise himself as a target. Once he had accomplished his goal he would rejoin the team and aide with retaking the Bohrs. Movement at the rear of the shuttle caught his attention, someone was inside. He moved behind a large storage crate and tried to get a better view of the rear of the shuttle. Sure enough there was one individual inside pulling off panels and proding the inner workings. He eventualy gave up and started opening the storage compartments to see what he could find, the first thing he found was Ben's duffle bag which he opened and proceeded to dump the contents on the floor. Unsatisfied he threw the bag out of the shuttle and checked the next compartment this time pulling out the sword it held. ~Oh no you don't~ The individuals back was to Ben so he moved quietly accross the deck until he was just inside the shuttle and behind his prey. Peering over his shoulder Ben saw he had the blade drawn and was admiring the craftsmenship. It was now or never. "I believe that belongs to me." Ben stated. The Irlixian spun around and looked at Ben with surprise. "How...." He began as he continued to draw the sword. Ben took a step closer and lifted his foot and placed it on the hilt, giving it a shove he forced the blade back into the saya. The Irliaxian simply stared in defiance as he again tried to draw the blade but couldn't.  He then tried to pull his phase pistol but Ben quickly releived him of the weapon with a small kick, he then caught Ben off Balance and managed to knock him to the shuttles deck. Standing the Irlixian moved towards Ben, dropping the sword in the process. He raised his fist to hit Ben but Ben expected the attack and kicked back catching him in the stomach, as he staggered back Ben jumped him and pressed his hand down on what he hoped was the Irlixian equivalant of the carotid artery. Several moments later the Irlixian slumped and Ben dragged him out of the shuttle. Now it was time to create a little diversion so the others would stand a better chance of reaching the Bohrs. Sealing the rear hacth Ben powered up the shuttles systems and engines, warp capability was out of the question but the impulse engines still worked. He lifted the shuttle off the hanger deck and and headed towards the bay doors, with a little luck the remaining forces inside the hanger would concentrate on keeping the shuttle form escaping allowing the others unhindered access to the Bohrs. He had no intention of leaving but the Irlixian's didn't know that. The shuttle shock as the first blast struck it's hull.
